Privacy

Short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and tracks nobody. The only personal information we hold is what you send us to have a report made, and we use it for that and nothing else.

When you browse

We collect nothing. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising pixels, no session tracking and no third-party scripts beyond the web font this page is set in.

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which like any web host processes your IP address and browser details in order to serve the page and to block attacks. We do not have access to individual visitor records and do not build profiles from them.

When you buy

Payments are handled by our merchant of record, Gumroad, Inc., who is the legal seller. Your card details never reach us. We never see, hold or process them. Our payment provider keeps its own privacy policy governing the checkout, and you are subject to it at the moment you pay.

From the purchase we receive your email address, the product bought, and whatever vehicle details you supplied at checkout.

When you send us a vehicle

To prepare an import eligibility report we need the vehicle, its build date, where that date came from, the destination country, and an email address to send the report to. You may also give us a chassis number and a declared value.

We use those details to prepare your report and to answer you. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell them, rent them, share them with anyone, or add you to a mailing list. There is no mailing list.

A chassis or VIN number identifies a vehicle, not a person, but we treat it as yours and hold it the same way.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which our payment provider also holds as merchant of record. The vehicle details and correspondence are kept while they are useful for supporting you — a follow-up question months later is easier to answer if we still have the file — and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@importwindow.com and we will do it. We will not ask you why, and doing so will never affect your refund rights.

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, the lawful basis for holding your vehicle details is performance of the contract you entered when you bought a report. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Children

This site is aimed at people importing vehicles and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics, a mailing list, embedded players or anything else that collects or reveals more than the above, this page will say so, and the date below will change. The sections above are generated from the site's own configuration rather than written by hand, so they cannot quietly fall out of date with what the site actually does.
