About ImportWindow

ImportWindow exists because the rules are simple, public and scattered. Every importer has written a blog post about the 25-year rule. Nobody built the database.

What is here is a structured record for each vehicle: production span, the tests that apply in each destination country, the date each test opens, and the government source behind it. The answers are computed, not written, so they stay correct as dates roll forward.

Corrections

If a production date or a rule here is wrong, that is worth more to us than almost anything else. Tell us what is wrong and what the source says, and it gets fixed.
