Manufacture date given by telephone
The only Japanese manufacturer with a published, on-the-record commitment to tell you a car's date of manufacture. Subaru's own FAQ says to ask them.

Build date
States when the car was built. This is the date every import rule is measured from.
What you have to supply
Identity verification that you are the registered owner or user - Subaru treats the build date as personal property information.

Subaru vehicles.
Limits and gaps
The ownership gate is a real obstacle for an overseas buyer whose name was never on the Japanese registration.
Notes
Have the Japanese seller or exporter make the call while they still hold the registration. Ask for it in writing by email if you can.
