States the Date of Production and verifies engine and transmission numbers against factory records. Overkill for an import date; excellent for a sale.

Build date
States when the car was built. This is the date every import rule is measured from.
What you have to supply
The VIN and the physical car, for a 63-point inspection and photography.
Who can order it
Models out of production for at least ten years: 356, 911 through 997, 914, 924, 928, 944, 959, 968, Boxster 986/987, Cayman 987, Carrera GT, Cayenne I.
Limits and gaps
Requires the car in front of a dealer, so it cannot be obtained before purchase or while the car is on a ship.
Notes
If all you need is a build date, order the Production Specifications instead and keep the other $350.
