Build date and despatch date
States when the car was built and, separately, when it left the factory. The best kind of document there is.
What you have to supply
All original vehicle numbers - chassis or VIN, engine, body and gearbox - plus a copy of the registration document or title.
Who can order it
SS, Jaguar and some Daimler and Swallow-bodied models. The vehicle must be more than ten years old. Production records held from 1931.
Limits and gaps
The archive does not hold complete records for all Daimler models. They will not put anything on a certificate that is not documented in the original production records.
Notes
Jaguar Land Rover Classic at Coventry is a restoration, parts and experiences business. It does not issue per-VIN certificates. Jaguar goes to JDHT; Land Rover and Range Rover go to BMIHT.
